Five climbers talk about their differing personal struggles

Five women come together at the Women’s Climbing Symposium at the Workstation in Sheffield to discuss personal issues affecting their varying careers in the climbing industry.

Having recently moved up to Sheffield I knew nothing about climbing but headed to the event as it was taking place in my building and, well, it was about sport, so I decided to go.

I loved it. I heard from climbers Shauna Coxsey, Fran Brown and Lucy Creamer, film-maker Jen Randall and entrepreneur Stef Meysner and their personal struggles, from depression after an accident to creating a business from a love of the sport to the overawed competitor just getting started on the bouldering world series tour.
