An Ode To Carlos Tevez

Remember that time then Manchester City player Carlos Tevez ‘refused’ to play? Well, anyway, I wrote a poem about it, because really, why wouldn’t you?

An Ode To Carlos Tevez
by Jo Gunston

Carlos Tevez on a bench he just would not leave
Leaving manager Roberto Mancini much aggrieved
£200k a week Tevez did earn
Yet he would not take his warm up turn
Leaving the football fraternity rightly peeved

Off to Argentina Tevez did run
Man City thought he’d jumped the gun
The clock was ticking
With each playing chicken
On a loan deal with AC Mil-un

Three months later Tevez returned
But continued to be spurned
However Tevez apologised
Mancini philosophised
‘We could do with him come the end of the seas-un’

Other ditties from Jo…
An Ode To Lance Armstrong
An Ode To Playing Like A Girl
An Ode To Scotland Rugby
