The haunting musical back drop alludes to the compassion people may feel when they hear of Fran’s accident but the practical, matter-of-fact attitude of the world-leading paraclimber is soon revealed.

Yes, Fran Brown fell off a ladder at work with injuries so severe she now has limited use of her hands and legs but this just meant the climber had to adapt.

Shot in one day in London, Crook captures a seemingly solitary soul who, when climbing, loses herself entirely to the process with every handhold taking her further away from her wheelchair-bound life on the ground.
