What’s it like… to film an ad with a sports star

Eight-year old Autumn hosts a tea party for American footballer Calais Campbell. The duo are filming an advertisement for sports retailer Fanatics to promote their Delicate Subjects campaign. Autumn (along with mum Stacey) takes us behind the scenes of the shoot.

Autumn tea party Calais Campbell NFL

Autumn waits for the arrival of her special guest

Dressed in a fancy sparkly outfit, four-foot-tall Autumn pours tea, asks hard-hitting questions and teaches the six-foot-eight defensive end for the Jacksonville Jaguars to floss – the dance not dental hygiene.

I used to do gymnastics with Autumn’s mum, Stacey, so when I heard what Autumn was up to – a gymnast herself – I asked if they would mind taking some behind-the-scenes footage. So that’s what we have here. They created some fab content, I just edited it.

A Little Book of Sport Stories

Dressed to the nines herself it’s not long before Campbell dons some clip-on earrings and a tiara. But my favourite bit is when Autumn puts on the signed shirt given to her by Calais. It’s not a mini version, oh no, it looks like he’s literally given her the shirt off his back.

So, first up, the finished advert:

Love the sass of Autumn, you’d never know she felt a little nervous prior to the filming, as you can see in the behind-the-scenes video below. So we follow Autumn’s journey as she flies from her New York State home to Jacksonville, home of the big cats.

I just love the confidence of Autumn and the fun she clearly has with her mum in doing this. Thanks guys!
